Literature Review
We examined the Health Promotion Board’s resources and we found several important things to take note of within its resources and we also incorporated it into our resources. Regarding food, they highlighted that it was important for children, especially, to watch what they eat to stay healthy. Therefore, within our resources, we have especially catered to our target audience of teenagers in hwa Chong to ensure that they can lead healthier and happier lives. Regarding sports, they also pointed out the importance of exercise and warming up to stay uninjured, so we specially created several warm up videos and exercises for teenagers to do in the ease of their home or at the school.
We strongly believe that our target audience should be Sec 1 and 2s, yet being available/optional for upper secondary students. This is because it is essential to cultivate a good foundation so that they are able to exercise these eating/exercise habits in upper secondary. Thus, we have decided to create an informative yet interactive website to allow Sec 1 and 2 students to take note of some of the meaningful and important tips we have collated and put up. Infographic posters were also created for viewing pleasure. At first, we only wanted to do a website and some videos, but we realised that we could expand our project by creating a quiz to increase the students' motivation to learn new things. Although the information is not exhaustive, we believe we have provided the essence from the information we have gathered. To cater to the needs of our target, we have analysed the food in the canteen to give students an informed choice about their food selection. Besides, we have created exercise schedules for each Sec 1 and 2 class based on their timetables.
